The Surprising History of the Morning Star Foundation

The Morning Star Foundation was born out of the Morning Star Boys’ Ranch, which was founded in 1956 by the Catholic diocese. Their mission was to help neglected, pre-delinquent boys become healthy, happy, and successful citizens. Over the years, many generous donors gave to this worthy cause and in 2006, a separate nonprofit foundation was formed to prudently manage the large donation base that had accumulated. 


As the Ranch and the needs of the community changed over time, the Foundation board unanimously made the decision to expand the scope of our mission to include girls as well as other non-profit programs aligning with our mission. We are proud to say that although many years have passed, the Morning Star Boys’ Ranch continues to be our major beneficiary. We will continue to support them alongside our minority beneficiaries for years to come.
