Our Vision

Our vision is to help every kid develop the self-confidence they need to succeed.

Our Mission

With your generosity, we fund children’s charities that provide disadvantaged kids with a safe place to call home, a family that loves them, a feeling of community, and opportunities to learn, build self-esteem, and have fun.

Our Views on Diversity & Inclusion

At the Morning Star Foundation, we are committed to building a more just and equitable organization and community where all individuals can achieve their potential. It is the policy of the Foundation to provide and promote equal opportunity for all people without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, marital status, familial status, veteran’s status, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability. The Foundation is fully committed to building an inclusive culture and community that uplifts and celebrates diverse and unique individuals while enabling them to not just survive but to thrive as they achieve their full potential.

The Surprising History of the Morning Star Foundation

The Morning Star Foundation was born out of the Morning Star Boys’ Ranch, which was founded in 1956 by the Catholic diocese. Their mission was to help neglected, pre-delinquent boys become healthy, happy, and successful citizens. Over the years, many generous donors gave to this worthy cause and in 2006, a separate nonprofit foundation was formed to prudently manage the large donation base that had accumulated.

As the Ranch and the needs of the community changed over time, the Foundation board unanimously made the decision to expand the scope of our mission to include girls as well as other non-profit programs aligning with our mission. We are proud to say that although many years have passed, the Morning Star Boys’ Ranch continues to be our major beneficiary. We will continue to support them alongside our minority beneficiaries for years to come.
