Charity Dinner & Gingerbread Fun

Let’s start a new holiday tradition! The Morning Star Foundation is cordially inviting you to join us for A Place to Call Home Charity Fundraiser, featuring local celebrity chef, bakery owner, and gingerbread enthusiast, Ricky Webster.

We are celebrating the important work four local nonprofit programs are doing to help homeless, expecting, and new teen moms to have a safe place to call home. These programs support our mission by creating a sense of family and community while building the skills and self-esteem kids need to fuel their futures.

Gingerbread is going fast! Make sure to register by Wednesday, December 2nd so you receive your gingerbread kit in time.

To login to the event, click this Zoom link and enter the following information, if requested. We recommend logging into the zoom session a few minutes early, around 6:50pm:

A Place to Call Home

A Home for the Holidays

You can make a Christmas wish come true for the ladies at Alexandria’s House, Aston-Bleck Apartments, and TLC. We asked them to put together a Christmas wish list with some basic household items and baby supplies so we can help set them up with their very own place to call home. Please help by visit the registry where you can purchase one or more items on their list.

EduCare  |  Transitions

Licensed childcare on the TLC campus for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children designed to meet the needs of formerly homeless children.

Transitional Living Center (TLC)  |  Transitions

Transitional housing providing an opportunity for women and children to live together, maybe for the first time, in a stable supportive environment with parenting education classes and support groups.

Alexandria's House  |  Volunteers of America

Teen pregnancy can trap homeless and low-income mothers and their children in poverty, domestic violence and lack of education. That's why Alexandria’s House provides a safe, supportive and nurturing home for expectant and new teen mothers.

Aston-Bleck Apartments  |  Volunteers of America

Aston-Bleck Apartments offer transitional housing for homeless women aged between 18 and 24 and their children. The goal of the program is to provide young women with safe and affordable housing as they work toward self-sufficiency and greater independence.
